    Product Description

    Features:

    1.When the mains power is supplied, the MINI UPS will bypass the battery and directly supply power to the equipment; If the battery is under charged, WGP will charge the battery until it is fully charged;

    2.When the mains power is disconnected, the MINI UPS will automatically connect the internal battery for millisecond switching, and the equipment will remain online without restarting. The continuous full battery power supply will last for about 6 hours.

    What Is a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)?

    A UPS, or a uninterruptible power supply, is a device used to backup a power supply to prevent devices and systems from power supply problems, such as a power failure or lightning strikes. A UPS can help prevent power supply problems that can often occur on a production site, such as an instantaneous voltage drop and a power failure.

    Function

    If power supply to devices stops because of an instantaneous voltage drop or a power failure, devices such as PCs or registers shut down abnormally, which can damage hard disks and corrupt the data. A UPS can supply power to devices from a built-in battery for a given period of time during an instantaneous voltage drop or a power failure to protect devices and important data.

    Classifications

    There are two major classifications of UPSs: DC input/DC output models and AC input/AC output models. Select the optimum UPS for your needs based on the type of power supply, load capacity, and other specifications of the equipment and devices that you want to backup. You can also use a UPS together with a switch mode power supply to further increase your options.

    A DC-DC UPS is the optimum option for backing up devices with a DC input power supply.

    Mechanism

    During normal operation, the input power supply bypasses the UPS and is output as-is. During backup operation when a power failure or an instantaneous voltage drop has occurred, the UPS changes to inverter operation with power supplied from its internal battery.

    Selection Method

    Check the power consumption (W) of the device that will be backed up by the UPS, and select a UPS that has an output capacity greater than that amount.

    SOMETHING YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW

    What is the difference between the UPS of 8800mAh and 10400mAh?

    Actually, almost all the 10400mAh UPSs in the market are with 12V1A output. So at this power level, 10400mAh UPS will last only about 0.5h longer than 8800mAh when fully charged.

    H=(10400-8800)*3.7/(1000*12) = 0.4933h

    If the router’s power is less, then the duration would be somewhat longer.

    Can I apply a device with 12V2A on this UPS?

    Well it depends. If it is a router or a modem, then it’s OK. Because the Spec of a router or a modem doesn’t mean that the device is always working at that power level. The actual working power is normally less than the rated power.

    There is an experiment here. We tested a modem (ECP3008 / 12V1A) and two routers (WR340G+ / 9V0.6A & XDR6020 / 12V2A). Modem’s working current is 0.52A (52% of the rated spec) and the WR340G+ is 0.38A (63.3% of the rated spec with one LAN cable working), the XDR6020 is 0.42A (21% of the rated spec with one LAN cable working, really excellent performance, highly recommended).

    Especially the routers, the actual consumption power are various. You know, mostly there are several LAN and a WAN port in a router. The more LAN ports are working, the more power is needed. However, the connected wireless terminal numbers have little influence on the power consumption. So when you apply a DC UPS on a router, the less wire terminals the longer endurance time.

    If it is a pure resistance load, then please don’t. There is overcurrent protection mechanism with it. Don’t worry much about connecting a large load by mistake.
