    Product Description

SVBONY 2" Filter UV/IR CUT Block for Astronomy Telescope Infra-Red Filter Moon with CCD for Astrophotography

This specialized filter has the ability to cut both UV rays below 390nm and IR rays above 700mn leaving just the light rays in the visible spectrum passing through the filter and into the camera. This is important because unfiltered CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum. These rays can cause light contamination and have a very negative impact on image quality. This filter is used on a digital cameras and cine cameras that do not have an IR protection filter or cameras that were modified to have the sensor removed.
The SVBONY filter is a better choice for all digital imaging with digital cameras;DSLR camera;CCD cameras;modified Webcams and telescopes
The UV-IR-Cut filter uses the very latest coating technology to deliver the high filtration quality and lifetime durability
The UV-IR cut filter combine with any of the other Baader filters screws into the back of the eyepiece or camera adapter to block out the chromatic aberration unwanted
So it delivers the sharper images possible;it can also reduce the ghost images caused by IR radiation

1.Precision CNC-machined metal filter cell with sand blasted black anodized finish, anti-reflection treatment, and laser engraving
2.Ultra-thin filter cell to minimize vignetting
3.2-inch astronomy filter with standard M48x0.75 male filter thread (female thread, can be stacked with other filters)
4.Suitable for color CMOS and CCD cameras and modified DSLRs
5.Use with monochrome CCD for astrophotography
6.High quality protective plastic storage case
    7.Caliber: 2" / 50.8mm
    8.Net Weight: 0.35oz/10g

    How to use it?

What can UV/IR CUT filters do for you?

Infrared or IR light is invisible to the human eye, so it is not a concern when you are using your telescope visually. However, when you add a camera to the mix, it's a whole other story. Unlike the human eye, a silicon sensor is very sensitive to light in the infrared portion of the spectrum, and that is a problem because infrared images are blurry as all get out. That means your nice, sharp visual light image is degraded by the addition of the infrared layer. This problem can easily be solved by blocking the infrared, and the SVBONY IR-Cut filter will do just that.
This filter is a must for all digital imaging with digital cameras CCD cameras and modified webcams. It's also useful for protecting valuable H-Alpha filters from heat stress and damaging IR (Daystar etc). Due to their extremely high optical quality these filters may be stacked and used far in front of the focal plane (necessary for imaging uses).
The UV-IR-Cut filter uses the very latest coating technology to deliver the finest filtration quality and lifetime durability.
Eliminates violet halos around bright stars (more effectively than simpler so-called Minus Violet photographic filters).

    NOTE

Question:Can i use it with my eyepieces?
Answer:It is threaded to fit any 2" eyepiece.

Can this be used to see the eclipse?
Answer:No you would blind yourself using this filter to view an eclipse. You need a dedicated sun filter that fits over the telescope lens, not the eyepiece. Sun filters reject something like 99.9999% of the sunlight before it enters the telescope.
